Jan van Lieshout, PhD is a general practitioner and senior researcher at IQ healthcare. His research field is the quality of chronic care in primary health care.
He is involved in a number of international projects in which the care for patients with cardio-vascular diseases in general practices was studied and improved. Moreover, Jan van Lieshout is involved in the SeMaS project for tailor-made support in self-management as well as in the implementation and evaluation of an instrument to increase compliance. Particular attention in a number of the projects is given to the patient’s network, the network of the care professionals and the network of the care organisations.
- Scientific background: medical doctor, qualified as a general practitioner in 1987. Doctorate in 2012 (Radboud University Medical Center), thesis: "Improving cardiovascular primary care ". 2001-2006: scientific researcher NHG (Dutch College of General Practitioners), section Guidelines and Research. Employed as a GP-researcher since 2006 at IQ healthcare, Radboud University Medical Center. 2010-2014: chair of MalburgenGEZond, an integrated centre for primary care. 2006: advisor to the care group continuity of care in Arnhem and surrounding area. From 2014 onwards: delegate EQuiP.
